Hospital Kids is a musical comedy about three pediatric cancer patients who try to avoid being discharged from Wyler Children’s Hospital so that they can stick around long enough to meet their celebrity crush, who is scheduled to visit their ward the next day.

Musicians

Jake Chapman (keyboard)


Jake Chapman (Composer, Hospital Kids) is a composer, pianist, and vibraphonist. Originally from Los Angeles, he studied music and computer science at Columbia University and jazz vibraphone at Juilliard. He began his career writing musical theatre as composer-lyricist of the 122nd Annual Varsity Show at Columbia. His song “Beating Around the Bush” was featured in Outliers, a 2016 NYMF song cycle. He was featured in the Broadway's Future Songbook series at Lincoln Center Jake is a member of the BMI Musical Theatre Workshop and recipient of an ASCAP Young Jazz Composers Award. He plays keys in NYC-based band Cale and the Gravity Well.    

Lisa Mongillo (Bookwriter/Lyricist, Hospital Kids) is a writer and lyricist. She co-wrote book/lyrics for the musical The Radium Girls, audience favorite at the Players Theater Short Play Festival. She was featured in the 2017 BMI Workshop Showcase at the Deane Little Theatre. She collaborated on the song-cycle A Never-Ending Line, which ran Off-Broadway at the Players Theatre. Her songs have been performed at the Metropolitan Room and 54 Below. She’s written for Reductress, HelloGiggles, and The Belladonna. She’s a member of the BMI Workshop, and makes music/comedy with writing partner Luke Holloway. She studied at William & Mary and the Second City Conservatory.
